Its okay not to be okay.
Does this ever happen to you?
When things go right for a couple of weeks, at work, at home and in your day to day life, and you feel on top of the world, and then something bad happens, all happens at once, every bit of bad news, every tear, mood swing, argument, clumsy moment all come crashing down on you all at once?
Sometimes you wake up, and no matter how hard you try to tell yourself to cheer up it doesn’t work. You wake up and instantly decide its going to be a bad day. One of those days where you just want to be left alone, don’t want to talk to anyone, or go out, or make the effort to dress up. One of those days where all you want or need is comfort. Your comfiest clothes, comfort food, and the comfort of your own home.
On days like these, I find myself become the little girl I once used to be, who just needs the comfort of her parents soothing voice, giving advice or just a cuddle. Everyone needs their mum or dad once in a while, no matter how old they are. They always know the right thing to say. And you find the familiarity of their presence is the most comforting thing in the world.
I guess the point of this post is to let you know that everyone has a bad day, or week. It happens to everyone. We spend so much time worrying about others, sometimes we forget about ourselves. Sometimes we just need to take extra care of ourselves, pamper ourselves, invest time in ourselves, and this is a way for our body and mind to tell us to focus on you for a day.
Don’t feel like your moaning, or being childish or attention seeking. At the end of the day, how do you expect others to invest time in you, when you yourself won’t? Take a day off, relax, chill out, have dinner with your parents, a cuddle with dad, a good heart to heart with mum and you’ll instantly feel better.
Remember-‘It’s okay to have a bad day and it’s okay not to be okay once in a while’
