Do you remember when on MSN people used to send around chain messages saying ‘if you don’t share, something bad will happen to you’ and everyone at some point in their life, managed to convince themselves that something bad could actually happen and ended up sharing the message on? Don’t deny it…we’ve all done it.
Have you ever thought that this theory is very similar to life itself? Think about it. Everything that we say or do has a chain reaction in our life. A situation, a sentence, a mere tumble to begin with can turn into an undiscovered path that neither you nor your future knew it held.
For example, if you don’t make your bed in the morning, you end up coming home after what could be described as a tiring day and have to get into an unmade bed, something just doesn’t bode well. You don’t feel as comfortable as you should for someone who is exhausted, this results in you not getting enough sleep, and you waking up in a bad mood not ready to tackle the day ahead of you.
Now if we could change the scenario, and the first thing you did when you wake up is make the bed, and you did this every morning, you’ll have already accomplished the first task of the day. It’ll give you a small sense of pride and will encourage you to do another task…and another…and another. By the end of the day that one task completed will have turned into many tasks completed.
You may think that something so small couldn’t have such a big impact on your day. But it’ll help you realise that the little things in life matter. If you can’t do the little tasks, how can you prepare yourself to tackle the big tasks?
It’s this mentality that we choose to overlook at crucial points in our life. Don’t ever think your actions or your mindset are not of importance, because it’s these exact things that the consequences are based on.
Start the day right by accomplishing the little task, and go to sleep knowing you have conquered something so much bigger.
Remember- ‘Positive attitudes create a chain reaction of positive thoughts’.
